Since our founding, AMDI has been committed to transforming the way medical devices are developed. From early-stage concepts to final products, we’ve partnered with universities, clinicians, and industry to bring life-changing ideas to market.

2015Founded within Grand Valley State University, aMDI began as an academic initiative focused on supporting early-stage medical device development through engineering, prototyping, and testing.

2019We expanded our capabilities with new equipment and partnerships, offering clients a broader range of services including additive manufacturing and product validation testing.

2021aMDI grew into a key player in Michigan's MedTech scene, increasing industry collaborations and mentoring the next generation of biomedical engineers through co-ops and research opportunities.

2024Spinning out as an independent company, AMDI LLC launched with a continued mission to deliver innovation affordably, serving clients across the country while staying rooted in community and student development.
